• We are already seeing Influenza A & B in MISD.  We are asking for your help in controlling the spread of all illnesses. Please keep your students home if they meet the illness policy criteria. If your child has diarrhea, vomiting or has a temperature of 100 degrees or greater, please keep them home. They may return when they are fever free for 24 hours without taking fever reducing medication and/or have been free of diarrhea and/or vomiting for 24 hours.

If your child goes to the doctor and is diagnosed with an illness, please inform your school nurse.  We are tracking this information and want to target areas of the district that may need extra attention.  The health services staff and custodial staff will be doing extra cleaning and disinfecting to keep our schools as germ free as possible.

Flu is defined as fever equal or greater than 100 degrees AND cough and/or sore throat (in the absence of a known cause other than influenza (flu).

    Thank you,

Maypearl ISD School Nurses are an integral part of our district's schools. The nurses work with children, families, teachers, administrators, community volunteers, and special services staff in each school to meet the diverse needs of children in the Maypearl Independent School District.  Nurses foster optimum health so that students can fully participate in the educational programs.
