Mrs. Claudette Ratliff
I am the proud mom of 3 beautiful children; Shayna, Aubrey, and Guy. All my children have either graduated or are currently students at MISD. I've been married to my best friend for 24 years. I graduated from Tarleton State University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I have a certification in ESL, Early Childhood Education, and an additional reading endorsement. I graduated from West Texas A&M with my Master of Education in Curriculum Design and Technology. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for 14 years, worked as a gifted and talented specialist for 5 years, and currently serve MISD as the RtI (intervention) Coordinator, interventionist, and dyslexia specialist. I have trained in the LEAD dyslexia program, as well as our current dyslexia program, MTA. I love my role in special programs because I get to work with remarkable students who overcome challenges every day. I believe by working with parents, teachers, administrators, and other people involved with a student, we are able to understand the whole child, which enables us to make the best decisions on how to support that child to be successful in school. We owe it to our students to know each of them and assist them when they are in need. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with excellent educators and parents to meet the needs of our MISD students.
