The Maypearl ISD Police Department was created in 2018 with the assistance of the MISD School Board and Superintendent Ritchie Bowling. The departmental jurisdiction covers the entire Maypearl Independent School District which has more than 1,100 students in attendance and four campuses.
West Warren was hired in August of 2019. Chief Warren is a Law Enforcement Executive with over 30 years of experience in the delivery of professional police services including patrol operations, advanced criminal investigations, public safety education, training, community outreach programs, and specialized training and experience in campus and university policing, as well as a critical understanding of the law enforcement role in the public educational setting.
Chief Warren retired from the Arlington Police Department after 21 years of municipal police experience and has worked in other law enforcement positions which include Chief Criminal Investigator, Lake Ranger, Police Lieutenant, and most recently as a State Police Sergeant for the Texas Attorney General’s Office. A few of his favorite assignments were as a School Resource Officer and Mounted Patrol Officer.
Chief Warren’s educational background includes a Master’s of Education, a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, and completion of the Law Enforcement Management Institute’s Leadership Command College of Texas.
The mission of the Maypearl ISD Police Department is to provide safety for all students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors who are in attendance within the district. The department will ensure that the students of Maypearl ISD acquire an excellent education in a safe environment.
