Mrs. Kristy Teague

Originally from Waco, Texas, I studied Spanish in high school and college and lived and studied one summer in Madrid, Spain in 1990. I became a Spanish teacher in 1998 after studying at West Texas A&M in Canyon. For six years, I taught in Borger, Burleson, and Crowley before moving to Springfield, Missouri in 2004. There, I filled other roles in education, such as administrative support, curriculum development, and librarian.

In 2008, I graduated from the University of North Texas with a master’s degree in library science and management. Since then, I have added additional studies in language and literature from Missouri State and Regent University. My husband is a minister and our travels took us to French-speaking West Africa, where we lived in Dakar, Senegal (2007-2008) and Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (2017-2020). For two years, I served as the librarian for a Pre-K to grade 12 international school in Abidjan. In 2020, we returned to Texas. This year will be my 11th year to teach, and my 3rd year at Maypearl High.

My husband Tim and I have been married since 1994! Our oldest daughter, Sarah, is 25, a journalist, and teaches English at Waxahachie High School. Our son, Luke, graduated from MHS in 2022 and attends Navarro. Our daughter, Lillian (Lilly) attends MHS and is in 11th grade this year.

My hobbies and interests include spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, cooking, traveling, reading, and studying language. I'm happy to be back in Texas and part of the Maypearl Panther community. I look forward to working with everyone and having a successful school year!
