Health Services

Considering the recent concerns regarding the respiratory illness COVID-19, commonly referred to "coronavirus", MISD is working diligently to insure the health of all staff members and students.  We are keeping track of this situation with the help of our local health department, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Although we are still learning about this virus, based on the current information we have, health officials are recommending local communities and schools take the same steps to protect against coronavirus as we take to prevent other illnesses such as colds and the flu:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with others who are sick or may have been exposed to any illness.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with the inside of your elbow when you cough and sneeze.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy!

Thank you,

District Nurse
Maypearl I. S. D.

Maypearl ISD School Nurses are an integral part of our district's schools. The nurses work with children, families, teachers, administrators, community volunteers, and special services staff in each school to meet the diverse needs of children in the Maypearl Independent School District.  Nurses foster optimum health so that students can fully participate in the educational programs.
