Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Patrice Gilsdorf, and I have the privilege of teaching your child this year.  I’m so excited to have your student in my kindergarten class this year.  I have taught kindergarten for 22 years.  This is my 20th  in Maypearl.  My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 31 years and have lived in the area for 20 years.  Our two sons are now grown.  Our oldest serves in the military, and the youngest manages a real estate office in Nevada.   We have three grandsons aged 6 months,  5 and 12.  

          This is the beginning of a wonderful journey for your child and family.    We will have many experiences while learning and making friends this year.  In kindergarten we strive to enrich your child’s academic, social, and physical skills.

          We will keep in contact with you daily.  Your child will bring home a folder daily to facilitate communication.   School work, notes, and important dates will be sent home in this folder.  All notes and forms from home to school should be placed in the folder. Please sign and return this folder back to school in your child’s backpack daily. 

You may contact me with any questions or concerns.  You, as a parent, are your child’s first teacher, and it so important that we work together this year. If you would like to volunteer in our classroom please let me know.  There are plenty of opportunities ranging from clerical to working with students. The best way to contact me is by sending a note in your child’s folder.  You may also e-mail me, but keep in mind that I may not have a chance to check my e-mail until after the academic day.
