Heath graduated from DeSoto High School in 1987. He is currently the Chief Building Official for the City of Midlothian, Texas. He and wife, Shannon, married in 1993 and in 2002 became Maypearl residents. They have three children, Elijah, Grace, and Faith, all of whom are currently or have been students in Maypearl ISD. Heath is currently serving his 14th year on the school board. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church Maypearl. He enjoys camping, hunting, and spending time with family.

Justin Stinson, President of MISD Board of Trustees
Justin was born and raised in Maypearl. His wife, Amanda, is currently an elementary counselor. They have two young children both of whom are students in Maypearl ISD. He is a graduate of Maypearl ISD’s class of 1997 and went on to attend Tarleton State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and Landscape Management. After leaving Tarleton, Justin started his career as a firefighter/paramedic with the Dallas Fire Department in May of 2002.
Justin’s belief that one of our most important responsibilities is the education of our community’s children stems from being taught at a very young age the importance of having a strong and vibrant school. This is Justin’s second term on the school board. He is thankful for the opportunity to serve our community and our students.

James Eubank, Vice President of MISD Board of Trustees
James is a lifelong resident of Maypearl and a Maypearl graduate of the class of 1987. He and wife, Jenni, have six children together; four have graduated from Maypearl ISD and two are currently students in the district. James continued his education at Tarleton State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technologies. He currently works locally in the custom home business and has been serving on the school board since May 2007.

Tricia Ikard, Secretary of MISD Board of Trustees
Tricia was born and raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She moved to Waxahachie in January of 1981 to attend college at SAGU. She graduated in 1984 with a degree in Business Administration. While attending college, she was Administrative Assistant to the President. After graduation, she began working in Dallas for a family owned oil & gas business with investments also in real estate. After 33 years of business administration experience in corporate management, she retired in December, 2017.
She married her husband, Todd, on October 6, 1984. They have three children – Jessica graduated in 2006, Alexandra graduated in 2011 and Nick graduated in 2018. Because of Nick’s Intellectual Disability diagnosis, he is attending the Transition/18+ Program and Tricia will remain active in building this program in the District. She has lived in Maypearl ISD since 1994. She and Todd have owned four businesses since 1998, purchasing assets of other companies during this time. They merged, and then sold the technology and security service business in 2016. They now own one business, but have started preparing for early retirement.
She is a member of First Assembly of Waxahachie Church and is a member of the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. She served on the school board from May, 2007 to May, 2017. During this tenure, she served two years as the Board Secretary and four years as the Board President. After one-year off the board, she was elected in May, 2018 for a three-year term. Her passion is to see all students succeed to their full potential to enable them to be successful in college or be successful in a career that fulfills their dream. It gives her great pleasure to be an advocate for the students in our district.

Lesley Austin, Ed. D.
Dr. Lesley Austin received her B.A. from Texas A&M University in 2001. She worked for the Dallas Independent School District for six years, serving in various teaching, instructional roles and in the Principal Fellows Program. Dr. Austin earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with a principal certification from Lamar University in 2009. Dr. Austin completed her doctoral studies in 2017, earning her Doctor of Education degree from Lamar University. She worked 10 years in Maypearl ISD, as a teacher, coach, and principal. Dr. Austin now works at Trinity Basin Preparatory as Chief Academic Officer, where she is responsible for the district’s instructional programming and execution. Dr. Austin and her husband, Ben, are both graduates of Maypearl ISD. They have three children who attend Maypearl ISD.

Term: 2020-2023Ted Carpenter
Ted Carpenter has lived in Maypearl his entire life. He and his wife Bree graduated from Maypearl ISD and have been married for 19+ years. They have two children that both currently attend Maypearl ISD. He has been employed by the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department for 17+ years and currently holds the position of Driver Engineer. He and his family are members of the Maypearl Church of Christ were he leads worship part-time. He has coached his children in various youth sports as well as served on the Maypearl Youth baseball/softball board. He is very excited and feels blessed with the opportunity to help make great things happen in Maypearl and looks forward to serving his first term as a school board trustee.

Allan is a Christ following third generation Maypearl resident. He is a Maypearl Panther graduate of the class of 1986. He and his wife Pam have been married for 34 years and have 2 children, Taylor and Allex, both graduates of Maypearl ISD. Allan also has 4 grandchildren Emma, Ellie, Evelyn, and Nolen who currently attend and will attend Maypearl ISD.
Allan previously served on the Maypearl ISD School Board for 9 years (2003-2012). He has worked 20+ years at Martin-Merrieta and works as an Instrumentation and Process Control Technician. He enjoys farming, fishing, and time with his family.
Allan is passionate about serving the community that has served his family so well over the years. He aims to serve the Maypearl School Board with faithful stewardship and continual gratitude.
