Mr. Nicholas Vélez

Born, raised and educated in a small town, San Germán, Puerto Rico.  Lived extensively in New York City (Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.  Married to María Luisa Wilson (Vélez).  I have 6 children:  David (48), Mark Anthony (46), Caesar (42), Robert Michael (30), Kristyn Ashley (28), and Derek Jason (13).  I served in the United States Navy from 1964 (VietNam era) until 1984, and retired as a Senior Chief (Jet Mechanic).  I worked for and retired from Northrop Grumman as a Senior Instructional Specialist.

As far as teaching in the public sector,  I have been working as a Spanish I, II, III, IV, AP teacher (certified in Texas) since 2002.  I have also taught Latin I, II, III and college-level Spanish (Dallas Baptist University.

My formal education consists of a B.A.S. in Management and a dual M.B.A. (Management and Marketing) from Dallas Baptist University, and currently in the final stages of obtaining a PhD in Human Resources from Capella University.

I am a licensed Private Pilot with close to 750 hours logged,  a certified Scuba Diver (Rescure Diver), a former sky diver, former dog trainer (AKC certified), a former licensed Real Estate salesperson (New York), and for the better part of 22 years, had my own rock n' roll band (Nothin' Fancy).
