Mrs. Wood

Hello Maypearl Panthers!

My name is Kyla Wood and I am excited to join the Panther family this year in the Social, Emotional, Adjustment Skills (SEAS) Program as a Special Education Inclusion Teacher and Transition Specialist. Throughout my life’s journey I have gained multiple years of experience in the public school realm as a school nurse, business specialist, substitute, and student teacher in addition to holding my LVN license for the past 16 years where the majority of practice has been with developmentally disabled and pediatric patients. I obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration Degree from Tarleton State University in 2017 and more recently completed my alternative teaching certification to teach EC- 12 Special Education.

I am happily married to my husband Jason of 12 years and we have 3 beautiful and fun kiddos; Madalyn (15), Gavin (11), and Emery (8) who keep us laughing and busy every day. We love to make tons of memories together attending all of their activities and just living life.

I am excited to meet all the new faces and fill them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is my mission to help each student feel welcomed, connected, and will strive to challenge them to grow in his or her academic abilities that will lead them to be ready to face the world by their graduation. My hope is for every student to have the confidence to accomplish their goals that will result in fulfilling postsecondary education, have meaningful careers, and be effective citizens. I look forward to meeting you all and know it will be a great year!

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email any time.
