Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten Pre-Registration
We’re excited to announce that 2023-2024 school year pre-registration will open online April 13th, 2023 for Maypearl Primary School's Pre-K Program and Kindergarten students! See below for a list of required documents. We recommend gathering these documents and scanning or saving them to your computer ahead of time for a smoother pre-registration process!
Please note: Students who are currently enrolled in Maypearl ISD Pre-K for the 2022-2023 school year DO NOT need to complete this process to register their students for Pre-K or Kindergarten at this time. Registration information for returning students will be sent to parents and families soon.
Our Pre-K & Kindergarten Round Up will be held April 27th, 2023. You will check in at Maypearl High School to review your required documentation and confirm your completion of the online pre-registration. YOU ARE REQUIRED to complete the pre-registration online prior to attending.

STEP 1
Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for enrollment in a Pre-Kindergarten class, a child must be at least four years of age as of Sept. 1, 2023, and must:
- be either unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
- be from a family that is eligible to participate in the National School Lunch program for free or reduced lunches; or
- be homeless; or
- be the child of an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the Armed Forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
- be the child of a member of the United States Armed Forces, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the Armed Forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
- is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Family Code §262.201 or has been in foster care in another state or territory, but currently lives in Texas; or
- is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:
- a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code;
- a firefighter under section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code.
Determine Eligibility. To determine eligibility for the Pre-Kindergarten program, review and fill out the Pre-Kindergarten Application and provide your Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility Documentation.
Documents needed for Pre-K registration:
- Parent/Guardian Driver License
- Must have TWO Valid Proofs of Residency (electric bill, water bill or gas bill, AND lease agreement, mortgage statement, or tax deed)
- CERTIFIED Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Current Immunization Records
Kindergarten Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for enrollment in a KINDERGARTEN class, a child must be at least five years of age as of Sept. 1, 2023.
Documents needed for Pre-Registration in Kindergarten:
- Parent/Guardian Driver License
- Must have TWO Valid Proofs of Residency (electric bill, water bill or gas bill, AND lease agreement, mortgage statement, or tax deed)
- CERTIFIED Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Current Immunization Records
STEP 2
Complete the Online NEW STUDENT PRE-REGISTRATION, go online starting Monday, April 13th, 2023, to complete the online pre-registration.
Enrollment for Maypearl ISD is done online through the Ascender Parent Portal. Click here to create your Ascender Parent Portal Account to begin the registration process. You will need to upload the following documents to complete Step 2.
- Parent Identification (Valid Government-Issued Photo ID)
- Student Identification (Certified Birth Certificate)
- Child's Immunization Records
- Child's Social Security Card
- Proof of Residency
- Current Utility Bill dated within 2 months prior to enrollment: Electric, gas, or water bill showing name and physical address of person enrolling student (Cell/Phone, Cable/Satellite, Waste bills are not accepted)
- AND a current lease showing parent/guardian name as lessee or tenant; a current closing document on house in parent/guardian name (within same month) - OR - Current Mortgage Statement (within same month); Ellis County Appraisal District proof of ownership in parent/guardian name
If you are an existing Maypearl ISD family who needs to register a student NEW to Maypearl ISD, please log in to your Ascender Parent Portal, select my account in the top right corner, then select Enroll a NEW Student.
STEP 3
Email parentportal@maypearlisd.org to obtain your student(s) parent portal code and instructions to complete your student(s) enrollment.
Once you have your child’s ParentPortal ID you can add your student(s) to your ParentPortal account.
- Log on to Ascender ParentPortal. The My Account tab is displayed in the top right corner.
- Select Link an Enrolled Student.
- On the Link an Enrolled Student screen, type the ParentPortal ID and Birth Date. They must match the student’s record at the campus. If the Portal ID is sent by email, you may copy and paste the information.
- Select Add.
- Select Save. The student’s name will now be displayed in the student(s) list on the Navigation (menu) screen.
Once you have connected your child to your parent portal account, you will be prompted to complete registration. You may be required to upload the two proofs of residency again. This is to ensure we have current documentation on file. Follow each step, (you may have already completed some of these forms, please verify, confirm and select next. Follow each step, to the final page to complete your student(s) registration.Caution that that under Texas Penal Code section 37.10, it is a Class C misdemeanor to tamper with a governmental record (like enrollment documents). Further, under Texas Education Code section 25.001(h), a person who knowingly falsifies information on an enrollment form is liable to the district if the student is not eligible for enrollment in the district but is enrolled on the basis of false information in the amount of the greater of 1) the maximum tuition fee a district may charge under Texas Education Code section 25.038; or 2) the amount the district has budgeted for each student as maintenance and operating expenses.
